Kamelot keyboardist Oliver Palotai recently checked in with a recap of the band's South American tour, which wrapped up in Belo Horizonte on February 11th:

"Unfortunately, this was our last concert on this beautiful continent, and my flight will carry me back to less comfortable temperatures. Well, at least I can say that my productivity would probably suffer enormously if I would stay between vast beaches, great food and hospitable people. Writing the next Kamelot album here? I presume we would deliver a more happy than heavy album. We, the musicians and crew, were celebrating last night on the roof- top of our hotel with self- made Caipirinhas, saying slowly good-bye, while being sure we come back.

Thank you for a lot of thoughtful and funny gifts for my little son, including a tiny Brazilian soccer shirt. I don´t know if I am strong enough to let him wear it - being a fan of the German team to the bone, one who is yelling advice how to play correctly towards the TV screen during a game until the neighbours call the police , but I think he gives a damn about which team plays or wins as long as he gets his milk.

So, I had great moments here, including being rolled over by Chilean Earthquakes (which - in this case - is luckily something with ice cream and pineapple and too much alcohol) and fantastic, energetic fans. Excuse me if I appear sometimes kind of withdrawn during signing sessions or meeting fans after the concerts, but keep in mind that the energetic output of one South American citizen equals about that of a whole German town where I live.

So, meet you all next time! More Caipirinhas then."
