On January 26th, METALLICA performed their classic song 'One' with famed Chinese concert pianist LANG LANG at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Susan Rife from the Hearld-Tribune recently sat down with Lang Lang and he talked about working with Metallica at the Grammys.

Lang said “Somehow the Metallica team had this great idea to work together. The Grammys are basically a stage for synthesizing music together. It's a perfect stage for musical friends to be united. They were such cool people and I had a wonderful time working with them.”

He went on to say “Now everywhere I go, particularly in America, everyone is talking about it. Even checking into a place, going through customs, people say, 'Wow, you played really great!'"

An update from Metallica states: "We had a great time performing 'One' with Lang Lang at an awards show a couple weeks back and we want to share it with those of you who couldn't watch or want to re-live it sonically. Our rehearsal at East West Studios was professionally mixed and mastered and is now available for download in the iTunes store."

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the song on iTunes will be donated to the MusiCares charity.

In the days prior to the awards show, drummer Lars Ulrich spoke with Artisan News about rehearsing with Lang Lang, and how it feels to be back in primetime at the awards.
