Vocalist Peter Dolving, who sang for THE HAUNTED from 1996 to 1998, and again from 2003 to 2012, has revealed the following personal information.

"Two weeks ago I did a full 360 crash and burn on the bike down a hillside, and it´s put me back on my crutches for another couple of weeks... This time I´m taking it to heart. I will rest. Yes, I hear you big guy, I have slowed down.

But the Universe is good to me and I have been offered a new place to stay for the next couple of months that is actually right on the beach, which makes life a little easier now that I have to move like a turtle again for a while."

"The last couple of songs for I AM FIRE was hard to get my head around, because it was such a huge change in enviroment coming to Bahia. But it feels like the crash, for some reason made me accept that what is, is. (Again...) And it helped me find a way back into the songs. Three more songs done, only few more days per song as far as recording goes.

The problem is pacing myself. When it´s 35 degrees Celsius before noon, you can only work a couple of hours per day. Something that I've really enjoyed with bands like TORCHE, or early NEUROSIS, is the space. Giving the music room, not making the songs too cluttered with words and voice, instead striving for a balance in the pace and dynamics of the songs. With I Am Fire it´s all about the dynamics. This is something I've been dying to do all out like this since 1994, when I was on tour with KYUSS in Europe. The one thing that stood out before anything was how impressed I was with how they took time to elaborate, to let the parts find a balance and really grow. With I Am Fire, I think it´s safe to say that we owe a lot to bands like SONIC YOUTH, and TOOL. They work with a sonic wall, a relation to the tonal world that I feel very much at home in. It is however a tonal, and groove-dominated musical universe and it demands other things than the 16th notes of more traditional "metal" or HC.

Looking forward to a continued soft week."
