London, England-based prog legends URIAH HEEP have revealed that their brand new studio album, Outsider, will be released in June via Frontiers Records. Complete album details are forthcoming.

Uriah Heep guitarist Mick Box, who is currently on the road with bandmate/vocalist Bernie Shaw as part of the ROCK MEETS CLASSIC European tour, has posted a tour blog online. An excerpt is available below featuring a rundown of the Berlin show:

"The show started at 8pm sharp, and the choir kick off proceedings with a QUEEN song aptly titled, ‘The Show Must Go On.’ Boy these guys can sing, and with the power of the Orchestra, it is a great way to start the show. Up next is MIDGE URE, and he has some powerful stadium songs that are just great. The power of his voice on ‘Vienna,’ gave me chills. Following Midge was JOE LYNN TURNER who sang RAINBOW and DEEP PURPLE songs, and he came across really well. He does have a good set of pipes. Then on comes KIM WILDE and she has a good strong voice too, and some cool songs that were hits over here in Germany. I was pleasantly surprised with Kim, as she is a rocker at heart, and she belts it out. After Kim there was an intermission of 15 minutes.

After the intermission, THE MAT SINNER BAND and Orchestra perform PINK FLOYD's ‘Another Brick in the Wall,’ and then Bernie and I are introduced before running on to the stage and performing ‘Easy Livin,’ as our opener. This is where the Rock part of Rock Meets Classic really kicks in, and it goes down a storm. We follow that with a very popular song in Germany called ‘Free Me,’ where we get the whole audience singing. Then we go into ‘July Morning’ which has always been a huge stadium song, and it goes down fantastically well. The final song ‘Lady in Black,’ has always been a crowd pleaser, and the sight of that many people standing and singing along with gusto, is really quite stirring. I have the choir right behind me, and it sounds how can I say this, very emotional. They all have excellent voices individually, and as a team.

We leave the stage and ALICE COOPER comes on with ORIANTHI. Their type of theatrical rock, is of the highest calibre, and all of that topped off with terrific songs that will last forever. Orianthi plays great, and looks great, and Alice’s wife even comes on stage to dance, and she is unbelievably elegant and majestic. This adds another nice dimension to Alice’s show. The finale is a rendition of ‘Schools Out,’ where we all go one stage with Alice and rock out."
