Report: KISS Got Financial, Radio Support From Cleveland Before They Were Moneybags

Gene Simmons sure loves money. The KISS frontman talks about it a lot. He even has a clothing line called Moneybag. But before Gene and the boys were strutting their family jewels, they were looking to Cleveland for some dough.
The New York band – which was inducted Thursday night into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame - was partly financed by notable Cleveland businessman Carl D. Glickman. Glickman, who passed away in 2013, backed the band from the beginning - establishing a long-term tie between KISS and Cleveland.
“It was like their home away from home,” says John Gorman, who was program director at WMMS FM/100.7 when KISS enjoyed its 1970s breakout. “Gene Simmons was always coming up to the station and doing a guest DJ thing - and the reason was that their business affairs were being run out of Cleveland.”Read the full story at this location.
Last night (April 10th) KISS were inducted into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 10th at the event held in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center.
The original four members of Kiss - Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley - visited the press room for photos as Tom Morello of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, who made an impassioned induction speech, and Frehley took questions.
Paul Stanley checked in via Facebook with the following message:
"Here you go, people. This is yours."
Tom Morello inducted the four original members of KISS - Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss - into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
