May 26, 2014, 10 years ago
Danish death metallers Maceration have re-released their debut album, A Serenade Of Agony, on CD. The album was first released in 1992 by Danish Progress Red Labels.
The album features singer Dan Swanö of Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath, Therion and more, Jacob Hansen of Invocator and later producer-fame for Volbeat, Destruction, Aborted, Amaranthe, Jakob Schultz of Invocator plus guitarist Lars Bangsholt.
On the album, Dan Swanö was listed under his famous pseudonym Day DiSyraah, due to contractual reason with Black Mark, which released Edge Of Sanity. After the album was released the band continued with Jakob Schultz on guitar, Bangsholt on guitar, Steffen Lerke Nielsen (ex-Agonize, drums), Christian Nielsen (ex-Agonize, bass) and Jonas Holmberg (vocals), but split up in 1993.
A video for the album track, "The Mind Rampant" was made after the album and can be seen below:
The re-release features 12 old bonus songs and is released by Punishment 18 Records.
