KISS - Memorial Service For Producer Kenny Kerner Announced

It was recently announced that producer Kenny Kerner, who worked with KISS on their first two albums - the self-titled debut and Hotter Than Hell - both released in 1974. Kerner was 66 years old and suffered from diabetes. He was found at his home on May 27th.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 2nd at 11:00am at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St. in Chatsworth, California.

KISS posted the following statement in the wake of Kerner's passing:

"We are shocked to hear of Kenny Kerner's passing. He was an early supporter of the band and co-produced our first two albums. He additionally did some terrific work that produced numerous hits including 'Midnight Train To Georgia' for Gladys Knight And The Pips and 'Brother Louie' for Stories. He remained a friend till the end and we will never forget his contributions to our early years."

The debut episode of One On One With Mitch Lafon featured an interview rock journalist and host Mitch Lafon conducted with Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise, who produced KISS’ first two albums KISS and Hotter Than Hell in 1974.
