Guitarist and author Sean Kelly (Crash Kelly, Helix, Four By Fate) will be the guest on CFRB's In Studio With Bob And Blair which can be heard Saturdays between 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Newstalk1010.com or 1010 AM in the Southern Ontario area.

On May 10th, the Metal On Ice Electric Storytellers Concert took place at The Opera House in Toronto, Ontario celebrating Canadian rock. The line-up featured Brian Vollmer, Carl Dixon, Darby Mills, Lee Aaron, and Nick Walsh along with host Christopher Ward (former MuchMusic VJ) and the author/musical director of the night, Sean Kelly.

The clips below feature Walsh introducing his bandmates on the night and the group performing the all-original song 'Metal On Ice':

Lee Aaron posted the following message after the event:

"Bless you, bless you, bless you all my wonderful and talented cohorts. MOI was an amazing night of fabulous music, friendship and sharing - the history, the passion and the love of the great Canadian ROCK music that binds us together."

Sean Kelly's Metal On Ice EP was released in October 2013 via Coalition Music/Warner Music Canada. It tells the tale of Canadian hard-rock through the re-recording of chart-topping heavy metal hits from the 1980s and features the following tracklisting:

'On The Road To Rock' - Nicholas Walsh (Famous Underground, Slik Toxik) with Victor Langen (Kick Axe)

'Heavy Metal Love' - Brian Vollmer (Helix)

'Metal Queen' - Lee Aaron

'Don't It Make You Feel' - Darby Mills (Headpins)

'Keep The Spirit Alive' - Russ Dwarf (Killer Dwarfs)

'Hey Operator' - Carl Dixon (Coney Hatch)

Furthermore, Sean's Metal On Ice book was also published in October by Dundurn Press; an official overview reads:

Canada has produced many successful proponents of the genre known as heavy metal, which grew out of the hard rock of the 1970s, exploded commercially in the 1980s, and then petered out in the 1990s as grunge took over, only to rise to prominence once again in the new millennium.

The road to Canadian musical glory is not lined with the palm trees and top-down convertibles of the Sunset Strip. It is a road slick with black ice, obscured by blizzards, and littered with moose and deer that could cause peril for a cube van thundering down a Canadian highway.

Drawing on interviews with original artists such as Helix, Anvil, Coney Hatch, Killer Dwarfs, Harem Scarem and Honeymoon Suite, as well as prominent journalists, VJs, and industry insiders, we relive their experiences, motivations, and lifestyles as they strove for that most alluring of brass rings — the coveted record deal. It's a new perspective on the dreams of musicians shooting for an American ideal of success and discovering a uniquely Canadian voice in the process.
