Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has insisted if the band ever had their old gear and special memorabilia in a museum, it would have to be interactive rather than "locked away in a glass cabinet".

Bruce Dickinson says Iron Maiden would consider opening an interactive museum. The legendary rocker insisted the group wouldn't want to put their memorabilia behind a glass cabinet where fans aren't able to interact with the history of the band, and joked their mascot Eddie isn't "that sensitive".

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "We've got loads of gear kicking around. I don't want it to end up in some po-faced museum, with people in white suits saying 'Don't touch this'. I donated a jacket to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame and it was locked away in a glass cabinet miles away from your eyes. Eddie's not that sensitive."

On July 5th, Iron Maiden headlined the second day of Sonisphere festival, closing off the 2014 leg of their Maiden England tour which kicked off in 2011.

The Great War Display Team, a group of pilots which included vocalist Bruce Dickinson among its illustrious members, staged a spectacular 12 minute air display in the skies above Knebworth before the show. Check out more photos courtesy of Iron Maiden's Facebook page here.

"You're a loud and rowdy and thirsty bunch aren't you?" Dickinson told the crowd before kicking into the rarely-heard classic Piece Of Mind track "Revelations". "Tonight is the end of three years of this Maiden England tour. This is it! We've had three years of trying get it right! If we don't know it by now we never will. tonight then we never will. The last time I sang this one was at Canterbury Cathedral with Jethro Tull of all people. It was charity to fix the church roof. That was slightly more sedate affair, but this one we're giving it the full bollocks. That's a technical term."
