The current buzz around Canadian metal legends Voivod is that bassist Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault has called it quits for a second time. He will reportedly not be playing with the band this weekend at Festival Jonquière En Musique in Jonquière, Quebec on July 12th. Watch for details as we get them.

Blacky's first run with Voivod went from 1982 - 1991. He rejoined the band in 2008.

Wikimetal recently featured an interview with Voivod drummer Michel "Away" Langevin, the only founding member who has never left the band. Away talks about: all of his influences, the metal scene in Canada, and he shares memories of when former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted was in the band. The drummer also speaks about the tour with Sepultura, how he listens to music these days, and Voivod's upcoming projects.
