ANNIHILATOR's Jeff Waters In Praise Of Vocalist Dave Padden - "He Brings A Much Needed Breath Of Fresh Air To My Writing"
July 12, 2014, 10 years ago
Annihilator guitarist/founder Jeff Waters has checked in with the following:
"Annihilator have had some great singers and some very original sounding singers; Coburn Pharr on the Neverland CD was the best example. No one sounds like him/he sounds like no one. And there were a few others who may not have been all that good, but because they were original and really fit the songs/CD they were on, they were awesome! A cool thing about Dave Padden is that he respected all of them and liked a few! He is very conscious of not butchering what the former greats did. He honors them in his own quiet and subtle way and at the same time, and on his songs (over 50 songs he has been on!) he gives it his all. Schizo Deluxe, to me, has been his best work so far and mine on Never, Neverland! There ya go! Dave rocks!I know there are still some who are not that into his singing, but I bet that 90% of the Padden fans/acceptors are converts. Those who thought originally that he was not that great a fit for the band, they have seen what I have seen: Padden becomes a giant! Now if only I could get him to write more damn songs! He brings a much needed breath of fresh air to my writing!
Oh yeah, please remind him how killer a guitarist he has to be to play someone else's guitar parts (mine) and all the while, sing!"
