The Danish Metal Awards 2006 were held on November 18th in Copenhagen, Denmark at Amager Bio. The winners were as follows:
Metal Album Of The Year: MERCENARY - The Hours That Remain
Metal Debut album Of The Year: SUBMISSION - Failure To Perfection
International Metal Album Of The Year: SATYRICON - Now, Diabolical
Metal Track Of The Year: Submission - Deathride To Escape
Metal Production Of The Year: RAUNCHY - Death Pop Romance
Metal Artwork Of The Year: Raunchy
Metal Live Band Of The Year: VOLBEAT
Metal Talent Of The Year: FRAMELESS SCAR
The Honor Award was handed out to the legendary MERCYFUL FATE. - original members Michael Denner (guitar), Hank Shermann (guitar), Timi "Grabber" Hansen (bass) and Kim Ruzz (drums) appeared in public together for the first time in 22 years to accept the award. Vocalist KING DIAMOND was unable to attend the ceremony.
