Spawn.com reports:

"As we mentioned last week, Todd was chosen to decorate a massive 10-foot-tall Fender Stratocaster replica, which will be the centerpiece of a collection of guitars to be auctioned - with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Arizona. The exhibit will be displayed throughout Phoenix for residents and visitors to enjoy through 2007.

This week, Todd and McFarlane Companies artist Jason Gonzalez worked to bring Todd's vision to life. Todd's concept was for the guitar to look and feel indigenous to Arizona. Rather than focusing on something more global, as his fans might expect, he chose to make his mark with a theme specific to the Grand Canyon state. He also wanted the design to be more than one-dimensional. Playing off of the cliché, "a picture is worth 1,000 words," Todd flipped the equation, with 1,000 words comprising the picture. There are 1,000 Arizona-specific words telling the "tail" within the body of the scorpion. Todd envisioned a piece that would be visually stunning from a distance, and that would lure even the youngest admirers for a closer look - where they could see some of the many attributes that make Arizona so unique.

A variety of Arizona and celebrity artists are participating in the project, transforming authentic playable Stratocaster guitars. The collection will be displayed throughout Arizona from November 2006 through February 2007, and will be auctioned during a special concert and auction event at Casino Arizona on February 26, 2007.
