SOULFLY drummer Joe Nunez has issued the following update:

"Hey what's up everyone. It's Joe checking in with an update for you all.

After our return from the Gigantour with MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY and CALIBAN in Australia, I took a deep breath and found myself looking back at a very intense year, 2006. Soulfly had hit the globe with Dark Ages, and the touring was non-stop. More and more fans from all over came out to the shows as we conquered, then moved on to the next show. We played with so many great bands and met so many great people. We thank them, as we finish this year out.

We are now taking a break and plan on working on new material. Max has some killer songs in his arsenal so I look forward to hearing it. For now, I've been working with drummers, writing new tracks, and have a drum product soon to be released by Slug Percussion in Chicago.

During the Dark Ages tour, I was testing different prototypes of a drum product called the Uni-Badge. Slug Percussion and I developed a universal impact pad that works on toms, snare drums, and kick drums for both single and double pedal drummers. With the ability to mount either on top or underneath the drumhead, drummers can enhance their sound with more attack, while maintaining durability for heavy touring and studio sessions. I thought it would be great to have a round impact pad for all types of drumkits, and drumheads, etc. Also, the badge glows in the dark and will be available for 2007! Check it out at www.slugdrums.com.

I've been traveling during our break while preparing for the year 2007. Again, I'd like to thank the fans from all over the world as we look forward to the next time."
