TUB RING - The Great Filter Studio Update; Photo Available

Chicago's spazzed-out, high-energy rock ensemble TUB RING, who are currently recording their debut album for The End Records, titled The Great Filter (due out in early 2007), have posted an update and pictures on their official here.
From the studio, bassist Trevor Ebb writes:
“Hello everyone. I'm hoping this update finds you all in good health. I trust you're all sitting upright and taking nourishment? We've been in the studio for a few days now, and have spent the bulk of that time recording Wiken's drum tracks and my bass tracks. The album, co-produced by keyboardist Rob Kleiner and Neal Ostrovsky, is being recorded at B-Side Audio studios in Chicago. So far everything is running as scheduled, and based solely on the keyboards and drums that have been laid out everything is sounding wonderful.
Any downtime is spent bashing food and coffee down our throats. Our producer/engineer Neal has a really lovely studio and doesn't laugh at me when he walks into the lounge, only to find me lifting weights, talking about how I want to get buff as we record this album.
Wiken knocked out his parts with relative ease. I guess that's what happens when you're a machine that's fueled by raw power and coffee and whatever else he eats... I think it's a diet heavy in scrap metal and fire from the Gods. That being said, the machine managed to nail down 16 tracks of "bash bash flagga dooffsh dooffsh boom braccckaa" within the time allotted.
After Wiken did his thing, I was allowed back into the main room to turn knobs and slide things up and down and then spent some time tracking my bass lines. I think it was a sign that things would go well when I finished the MÖTLEY CRÜE book The Dirt literally minutes before I started my tracking. One day I didn't even eat, and that's quite a feat for me. I did however manage to ingest and catch up on all the coffee I haven't been drinking since forever. The end result was me grinding my teeth and waking up with a sore jaw this morning.
Rob makes it out into the lounge periodically for coffee or a potty break and then heads back in and nods his head or paces back and forth in the control room. I think he actually went outside and ate a few days ago. I think he's going a little mad. Today he told us that he thinks the 'Fergilicious' song was written so it could be used as a soda commercial quite some time from now.
Jeff just came in today, and we're starting the guitar tracking process. He's experimenting with lots of different amp/cabinet combinations, and trying to lock down the perfect mix of crunch/punch/thrash...so far so good from what we're hearing. I think Jeff's just glad to be in our presence right now, he calls me late at night and asks me what it's like "on the outside."
A few nights ago, Kevin stopped by, sat down and discussed Ikea furniture with me, spun around in a chair and split. He's busy with playing with his Wii. I guess we should start calling him Wii-Man. Get it? Get it?!
Oh yeah, we lied to you all we're recording more songs than we said we would. Get over it. Long live the new flesh!
Love, Trevor
p.s. Our friend Joey is filming a lot of this, and as a result, we'll be posting a video of lots of things relatively soon. We planned on having a nice little edit to go along with this written update, but Joey and I decided to pack it with more than just bass and drum tracking. We thought you'd want to see guitars and Kevin's pretty face as well.”
