Esctoday.com is reporting:
LORDI's Arockalypse has sold triple platinum in Finland and stays in top-20 albums chart. It is now also amongst the top-60 best selling albums ever in Finland. Since winning the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in May, Lordi’s dream has grown to gargantuan heights. Besides conquering numerous European charts the band has been given their own credit card though Finland’s Sampo Bank, as well as their own soft drink – Lordi Cola, Lordi candy, Lordi kebab, comic book, restaurant chain is coming and of course stamps and coins coming up in May 2007. Now they can add an American record deal to their growing trophy cabinet. Lordi have signed to The End Records for North America releases (as previously reported here. Their album Arockalypse will be released March 20, 2007 complete with bonus tracks and a DVD. It is expected that their European success will continue across the Atlantic. They are currently planning their first ever North American appearances and two night stint at the annual Bamboozle Festival in May 2007 has been already confirmed.
They also should perform in New York with KISS if all goes as planned. Earlier Lordi has said they will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest final on 12th May 2007, so let’s hope this won’t interfere with that!
With an over-the-top, unstoppable live show that combines the theatrics of horror movies and a pyrotechnic-fuelled rock’n’roll, Lordi knows how to bowl over their fans. As bandleader Mr. Lordi explains, “Create the band that you would like to see on stage. Write the songs you’d love to sing along to. That’s pretty much all that we love to do.”
