Joseph Barbera, the executive producer of KISS’ first movie KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park, died yesterday (December 18th) at age 95. Barbera, who along with William Hanna (who passed away in 2001) made name with Tom & Jerry, The Flinstones, Scooby-Doo and The Huckleberry Hound Show (to name but a few), was born on March 24, 1911 in New York City. He passed away on December 18 at his home in Los Angeles, CA.

Joseph Roland (Joe) Barbera co-founded Hanna-Barbera with William Hanna, after the two had already teamed up in 1938 to direct theatrical short cartoons. Two years later their first Tom & Jerry movie saw the light of day: Puss Gets The Boot. The duo won no less than 7 Academy Awards for Best (Cartoon) Short Subject. The Hanna-Barbera studio produced many wellknown cartoons and by the late ‘60s had become the most successful television animation studio around. In '78 Hanna-Barbera Productions produced KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park, which was one of America's most succesful TV movies and was shown in cinema's in other countries a year later.
