PAIN CONFESSOR Issue Purgatory Of The Second Sun Recording Update

Finland's PAIN CONFESSOR began recording their third album, entitled Purgatory Of The Second Sun, on December 15th at Fantom Studio in Tampere, Finland. The band check in with the following update to their "Studio Journal":
"Yep, been over a week since we wandered into the depths of Fantom Studio and sealed the door behind us. Now we have 10 tracks of drums, all the album tracks and one rental track from an 80's movie. Also all bass lines were laid down. It's been a very different session for us since the production is fully our responsibility. What a massive burden has Janne Saksa carried on our previous albums. This time the material is far more aggressive and requires certain type of roughness so perhaps one way to achieve it is to give us about 3 or 4 months time to write, arrange, rehearse, record and mix most of the material for the album and leave us to produce it ourselves.
We have had to admit time and again that by no means putting together a full length album from scratch in a time in which most people refuse even to take a shit is the easiest thing in the world. Hell, at least it will be raw and furious. This album has 9 songs from which 80% is pretty much all out war and the rest 20% is heavy, like walking to the gallows.
What else have we learned in there? To cook steaks with a microwave oven, to cook lots of other stuff in the micro, we have filmed a documentary: The Life Of A Drumstick, filmed 2 scenes of Virtual-Laihanen which gives you a sneak peek into a drummer's life behind the set. We also filmed some documentaries with lots of swearing in Finnish and a drum clinic by Estonian drum wizard Kaü Tahto.
January 2nd will begin the Second Leg of the session, we will break that one and try to update this journal when stress, hassle and pop allows."
As previously reported, Purgatory Of The Second Sun is due out in March via Megamania.
Tracks to appear on the release include: 'Without Redemption/Without Remorse', 'Last Of Forever', 'Second Sun', 'Dreamcrusher', 'Ne Plus Ultra', 'Mercenaries', 'My Last Words', 'End' and 'The Harvest'.
A first single will be available in February.
