hot flashes news haste final

Former Century Media Records artists HASTE, hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, have made the following announcement via their MySpace page:

"Alright, this is it... our final update.

A lot of people have been asking what is up with Haste for the last year or so, so here is and update about what is going on with Haste.

Jeff - Decapitated by his remote controlled hellicopter.

Chris - Died due to profuse bleeding after being attacked by an escaped jaguar from the local zoo. (the jaguar was recaptured unharmed and returned to the zoo.)

Brandon - Died from strangulation by his own hair while sleeping. In and even stranger turn of events, police say it was his leg hair that actually choked him to death.

Nick - Died of a massive heart attack shortly after hearing that the monster truck rally this year would be alcohol free.

Jason - Killed during a freak banjo accident.

So there ya go. We are all dead. There will be no more music. No more shows. That's it. We're dead.

In all seriousness, after an extended hiatus (of about a year and a half) we have decided to call it quits as Haste. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of our lives but we have all come to the point where it is time to move on.

A simple thank you does not express the gratitude we feel for everyone who has supported us over the years. We can't possibly list everyone by name who has been important to us as a band, but you know who you are.

I promise that we very much appreciate everything that you have done for us. Haste has been a huge part of all of our lives and we are all very sad to see it go, but it is time have some closure to this part of our lives.

We have a couple songs (plus the 'Back In Black' cover) that we recorded right before we went on hiatus that we will be posting in the next couple of days. Thanks again and maybe we'll run into you kids again soon.

Peace, Haste."
