Press Release:

LORDI, Finland's monster rock 'n' roll extravaganza and winners of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, has set a March 20th, 2007 North American release date for The Arockalypse. Set for release via New York's The End Records, this special edition of the album includes the award-winning song 'Hard Rock Hallelujah' (which has catapulted Lordi to superstardom in their home country) plus never-before-released tracks and a bonus DVD.

Lordi, who's anthemic, hard rock songs appeal to both younger audiences and the older rock crowd that enjoys arena-sized acts as KISS, TWISTED SISTER, ACCEPT and SCORPIONS wants everyone in the world, nay, the universe to know who they are. With an over-the-top, unstoppable live show that combines the theatrics of horror movies and pyrotechnic-fuelled rock 'n roll, Lordi knows how to bowl over their fans. As bandleader Mr. Lordi explains, “Create the band that you would like to see on stage. Write the songs you’d love to sing along to. That’s pretty much all that we love to do.”

Since winning Eurovision (the song contest that previously was a springboard for mainstream artists such as ABBA and CELINE DION, www.eurovision.tv) by its highest score ever, Lordi's popularity has grown to gargantuan heights, with the band conquering numerous European charts and a six-week sold out tour of Europe. The band's latest album, The Arockalypse (Sony BMG Finland) has been certified triple platinum in Finland and is now also among the Top 60 best-selling Finnish albums ever.

To celebrate their victory in the Eurovision Song Contest, Lordi held a public, free, open-air concert in the Market Square in Helsinki, Finland, on May 26th, 2006. At the concert, President of Finland Tarja Halonen made an official appearance to give Lordi a bronze key flag award for "exemplary Finnish work". The concert was attended by almost 100,000 people (making it the biggest public event ever held in Helsinki) from all over Finland and even other countries, some on their first ever trip to Helsinki. Also on this occasion, the world record for most people ever to sing karaoke was attempted by approximately 80,000 people, singing 'Hard Rock Hallelujah' (The previous record was held by 50,000 Irish rugby fans). Footage of the event can be viewed online at this location.

On the heels of their Eurovision win, Lordi were featured on the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen when lead vocalist "Mr. Lordi" presented the award for rock. Lordi then performed 'Hard Rock Hallelujah' live as the award show's closing act. In the wake of their enormous success, the band has been given their own credit card though Finland's Sampo Bank, as well as their own soft drink (Lordi Cola), Lordi candy and comic book. Amazingly, this past December, the band's latest single 'It Snows in Hell' - sold exclusively via Finnish post offices - entered the Finnish chart at No. 2.

In addition to the band appearing on the cover of over 40 Finnish publications in 2006, news features on Lordi's groundbreaking Eurovision win appeared outside of the country in mega-media outlets such as The New York Times, The Guardian (UK) and SPIN. Now since signing with The End Records, the band has set their sights on North America and anticipates their success will continue across the pond.

On the upcoming North American release of The Arockalypse, Mr. Lordi states, “I feel great. I’ve been telling journalist over the years that we are a Finnish band that is heavily influenced by American bands. All our musical influence comes from the States and it feels great that the album will finally be coming out over there.” On the topic of trying to achieve the same success Lordi has gained in Europe in North America, Lordi adds, "It is like a 2-sided coin because you don’t know what is going to happen. We have to start from zero over there. It is going to be interesting, and kind of a challenge for us, but then again it is great for us to be humble again. You can never tell which ways things will go, but we’re excited nonetheless."

The final track listing for The Arockalypse (Special Edition), which features guest appearances from Lordi fans/heavy metal superstars such as Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider (who acts as the party's MC, infiltrating the radio broadcast that opens the album ('SCG3 Special Report'), Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French, former KISS axeman Bruce Kulick and Accept legend Udo Dirkschneider, is as follows: 'SCG3 Special Report', 'Bringing Back The Balls To Rock', 'The Deadite Girls Gone Wild', 'The Kids Who Wanna Play With The Dead', 'It Snows In Hell', 'Who's Your Daddy?', 'Hard Rock Hallelujah', 'They Only Come Out At Night', 'The Chainsaw Buffet', 'Good To Be Bad', 'The Night Of The Loving Dead', 'Supermonstars (The Anthem Of The Phantoms)', 'Would You Love A Monsterman? '06' [Bonus track], 'Mr. Killjoy' [Bonus track], 'EviLove' [Bonus track] + Bonus DVD.

Lordi will embark on a string of North American tour dates in support of The Arockalypse this spring. The Monster rock n’ roll outfit has been confirmed to perform at both dates of the 2007 Bamboozle Festival, set to take place May 5th and 6th at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ (www.thebamboozle.com). Due to the band's enormous stage set and spectacular pyrotechnics, Lordi will perform on their own custom stage and close both nights of Bamboozle, together with MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and LINKIN PARK.
