Southern California rock quartet FU MANCHU has posted the cover art for their new album, We Must Obey, on their MySpace page.

The artwork was designed by John McGill, who first collaborated with Fu Manchu on their 2004 release, Start The Machine. More recently, McGill designed the cover art for the band’s new limited-edition EP, Hung Out To Dry, which features both a 7” single and a four-track compact disc.

“The cover artwork for We Must Obey is very representative of the lyrics and the overall theme of the record,” says Fu Manchu vocalist, guitarist and founding member Scott Hill. “It’s about not listening to others, and instead doing what you want to do and what you think is best for whatever situation you are in. I’m not talking about anarchy – just going with what you think is right for you, and trying not to be brainwashed.”
“We've dealt with some lame bullshit over the last few years, and now we only listen to ourselves,” Hill continues. “We are very happy with our record label, management and booking agent right now, so maybe the next record will go back to observations on UFO's, muscle cars, and Bigfoot – or maybe not.”

Fu Manchu’s tenth album and Century Media/Liquor and Poker debut, We Must Obey, was recorded at Hollywood’s Grandmaster Recorders studio (TOOL, NINE INCH NAILS, BLACK CROWES). Finishing touches were added by Gene Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering (VELVET REVOLVER, PENNYWISE, REV. HORTON HEAT). In addition to the songs 'Hung Out To Dry' and 'Between The Lines' – both currently available on the Hung Out To Dry EP – the album includes a cover of THE CARS’ classic 'Moving In Stereo'.

In other news, the band has added more dates to its previously announced six-week headlining tour, which kicks off eight days after the February 20th release of We Must Obey. Additional shows will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
