CARNIVAL IN COAL Writing For New Album; Release Expected In Late 2007

BW&BK; has received the following update on France's CARNIVAL IN COAL:
To say the least, 2006 hasn’t seen CARNIVAL IN COAL on strike. Just harvesting the latest press acclaim from their 2005 album Collection Prestige, the duet finally accepted to play their first show on April 15th, strongly accompanied by musicians from the dark metal outfit WORMFOOD, as well as Fred Leclercq (DRAGONFORCE).
Then, to their surprise, the band was asked to play several shows in France (Hellfest, VS Fest…), Belgium, Switzerland, and Czech Republic, which saw the band perform just before SICK OF IT ALL and DIMMU BORGIR at the mighty Brutal Assault Festival. Each and every of these gigs has been warmly greeted both by fans and press, and the band can now be considered as a stage act to count with. New live lineup includes Alexis Damien (drums, also to appear on the band’s next album), Romain Caron on guitar and backing vocals (from mathcore band JOHN MAKAY), Julien Cathalo on keyboards, Pierre Antonik on guitar (from ultra death metal band DSK), as well as Axel Wursthorn on bass and Arno Strobl on vocals of course.
To start well with 2007, Carnival In Coal just launched a brand new website (www.carnivalincoal.com), and is currently writing material for their new album, tentatively due for the end of 2007. This fifth release is said to be darker than their previous productions, yet still including the melting of genres that has made the band’s reputation.
Stay tuned!
