Temple Of Darkness Records Issues ORCRIST/BEASTCRAFT Split EP
January 21, 2007, 17 years ago
Temple Of Darkness Records have released the split limited edition EP from two totally uncompromising black metal underground bands: ORCRIST and BEASTCRAFT. 666 copies are being released on black vinyl, while a collectors picture disc edition of 100 copies is also available. All artwork, both on the cover and on the pic EP, is by Sorath of Beastcraft.
Both bands play black metal the old school way: cold, raw and brutal. And both were in favour of their collaboration being released in 7” format on traditional vinyl.
Says Grav, Orcrist’s drummer and founder member “We had been friends with Jose Luis at ToD for a long time, and happened to mention we were thinking about doing a split with Beastcraft (www.deathcibel.com). When he suggested ToD take it, we were more than happy. They put a lot of effort into all they do, and have a true understanding of the genre”
Orcrist (www.orcristhorde.com) are currently writing for their next album, which will feature Goblin of Norwegian black metallers ISVIND and other special guests. 'Black Destroyer', a track from the 7”, can be heard on Orcrist’s MySpace page at www.myspace.com/orcristhorde.
Temple of Darkness Records is a label specialising in Black Metal and Old School Death Metal, with releases from bands such as SUMMONING, VEHMOTH, CADAVER, JOTUSNPOR etc., coming out on vinyl as much as they do on CD. They also produce the Consumed By Darkness magazine, which is essentially a tribute to old school death metal bands. For more info contact www.templeofdarknessrecords.com.
