LORDI will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final, claims today’s Ilta-Sanomat. They met their fans yesterday (February 8th) in Helsinki’s main post office where they signed autographs and picked up the triple platinum record for their The Arockalypse album. Mr Lordi talked about Japan, the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final, the USA plans and more. Before performing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final as last year’s winners Lordi will do a couple of gigs in Finland, Estonia and Belgium before going to Japan and the USA. “I’m a bit worried about the food in Japan”, says Mr Lordi. “I don’t eat raw fish, or fish in general.” Lordi is currently charting in the Japanese album chart at number 13. “We are going to the USA after that. We won’t try the ice with a stick there, like we say here in Finland, but hit it with a baseball bat!”, he roars. The Arockalypse will be released in Northern America in March 2007.
Lordi will also perform in Emma Gaala, the Finnish Grammy's on March 10th. Lordi is nominated for the band of the year, the album of the year (The Arockalypse), the song of the year ('Hard Rock Hallelujah') and the producer of the year (Jyrki Tuovinen). Lordi is also nominated for the best Finnish act chosen by televoters. The rest of the awards are assigned by a jury.
