RIK EMMETT Comments On The Chance Of A TRIUMPH Reunion: "It's Not Even On The Table At This Point"
March 2, 2007, 17 years ago
Classic Rock Revisited has issued an interview with RIK EMMETT (ex-TRIUMPH), conducted by Jeb Wright. The following is an excerpt:
Q: I am not saying you have been anti-rock but you have concentrated on jazz, folk, classical and other genres a lot more than rock in your recent body of work. Is it any coincidence that this itch to rock out is coming at the same time Triumph is being honored by being inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame?
A: "No. I started the AIRTIME thing long before the Hall Of Fame initiative came over the horizon. The itch to rock came out of starting up a friendship with (Mike) Shotton, and our collaborations just headed into the direction of the classic, melodic, hard rock genre."
Q: I was going to sneak this in somewhere towards the end but what the hell.... I will just throw it out there. Is there ANY chance of a Triumph reunion?
A: "Nope. It's not even on the table at this point. It's not on my agenda."
