SYSTEM:OBSCURE, self-described as "savagely innovative" black metal, involves a cast of seasoned extreme metal veterans. Announced in vague terms during August 2005, the group cut a three track demo and appeared at the Norwegian Inferno festival in 2006. Now the band is recording tracks for a debut album. Vocals are handled by Balfori (a.k.a. (Lars Larsen) of LUNARIS, ALVHEIM and 1349, guitar from Steinar Gundersen of SPIRAL ARCHITECT and SATYRICON, fretless bass from Lars Norberg of Spiral Architect, ANESTHESIA and Satyricon, Hammond organ by "world famous jazz/fusion mastermind' Bugge Wesseltoft with the NILE, ACHERON, AURORA BOREALIS, GOD DETHRONED, MALEVOLENT CREATION, DIMMU BORGIR and ANGEL CORPSE credited Tony Laureano on drums.
