Michigan-based prog-metallers TILES have checked in with the following update:

"We've been back and forth between Detroit and Toronto several times since our last report - and have finished all of the lead vocals, completed a few more leads, and gotten a good start on backing vocals. Chris (Herin - guitar) had the pleasure of meeting Dave (Brownsound) Baksh, formerly of SUM 41, who was at Terry's (Brown - RUSH) studio recording his new project BROWN BRIGADE. Much different than Sum 41, Brown Brigade has kind of a progressive metal vibe with a lot of interesting musical interplay, aggressive vocals, and a bit of 'ZAPPA' humor. Several more trips are planned in March, as are sessions with a couple of 'interesting (well..., at least to us)' special guests. So..., we're still making progress and remain on target to mix in June."

As previously reported, legendary producer Terry Brown (RUSH, FATES WARNING) is working on Tiles followup to 2004's Window Dressing, due out in mid-2007.
