BW&BK; has received the following update on legendary Bay Area thrash/crossover band SKITZO:

(Frontman) Lance Ozanix of the California-based band Skitzo was admitted to the hospital late last night after suffering from severe stomach pain. After being seen by the emergency doctor, it has been concluded that Lance has a Mallory-Weiss tear. His doctors say this is a major complication due to his repeated antics on stage of vomiting on himself and fans.

This comes just a month before the release of the band’s latest full-length album, Five Point Containment. In a statement issued by James Mattern (Open Grave Records, Skitzo’s record label), “We are really upset to hear about Lance. He’s a great guy and a hell of a performer. We hope he gets well soon.”

Due to the vomiting virtuoso’s recent malaise and Skitzo needing to add a few finishing touches on the album, the release date for Five Point Containment will be pushed back from May 15th to June 26th, 2007.
