Earache Records has issued the following report on new signing SSS (SHORT SHARP SHOCK):

Liverpool thrashers SSS narrowly avoided a “Nautical Disaster” last week when playing a gig on the “Daffodil” Ferry boat on the Mersey for Channel 4 with “Hot club de Paris” and “Go Faster”

According to one review, “After a performance by hardcore outfit SSS, it is believed that various stabilizing bollards on the ships hull were cracked and ruptured. Despite efforts from the crew to steer the ship to land, control over the rudder could not be regained and the ship went down one mile from the shore.”

Frontman Foxy comments, “The fact that we never soundchecked and we were sandwiched between two indy bands was great. No one realy knew what to expect. Especially channel 4 who I thought were going to go flying as they were in the pit with expensive cameras filming. There was a line of these indy, arty types up front, expecting more of what they love. Broomo fires up his axe and the SSS goons that were onboard donned ski masks. I could see them bobbing up and down behind the front line - i just laughed. We fired everything up, shouted "lets go!", then the front line got scatterd like sticks in the wind. Gig was mega!!”

The programme is due to air a week Friday (April 6th).

The band's debut for Earache, titled Short Sharp Shock, is released on June 11th.
