OVERDRIVE In The Studio Recording First Album Since 1984!
March 28, 2007, 17 years ago
OVERDRIVE, the Swedish '80s metal band which reunited in 2003, is currently in the studio with producer Johan Blomström (BLINDED COLONY, KAPTAIN SUN) recording the new album Let The Metal Do The Talking - their first since 1984. The album will be released by Lion Music in the fall. The line-up features original members Janne Stark - guitar, Kjell Jacobsson - guitar, Kenth Ericsson - bass and Kenta Svensson - drums, plus singer Per Karlsson (ex-UNCHAINED). The new album features some tracks written way back in 1985 for what was to be the third Overdrive album: 'Gravy Train', 'Let The Metal Do The Talkin'', 'Reincarnation Part 1-5', 'Trapped Under Ice' and 'Sinister Warfare', all now re-worked. The new tracks, such as 'Chasing Highways', follow in the same vein. When reworking those old tracks we seem to have struck that good old metal vein and had loads of new inspiration.
"Kenth has written an as yet untitled number that will make fans of heavy tracks like Burn In Hell drool", says the band.
