ProgRock Records has issued the following update on AMARAN'S PLIGHT, a new supergroup featuring vocalist DC Cooper (SILENT FORCE/ex-ROYAL HUNT) guitarist/keyboardist Gary Wehrkamp (SHADOW GALLERY), drummer Nick D'Virgilio (SPOCK'S BEARD, TEARS FOR FEARS) and bassist Kurt Barabas (UNDER THE SUN):
"The album is called Voice In The Light. It has been mixed by Rich Mouser who does all of the Spock's Beard and Neal Morse albums and he has done an amazing job. The songs were composed by Gary, so there is a bit of a Shadow Gallery feel to it, but having Nick and Rich on it really punched it up to a whole other level. The album mixes elements of Shadow Gallery, QUEENSRYCHE, PINK FLOYD, and DREAM THEATER, with short quiet songs, and soaring epics as well.We've now posted 14 video logs from the sessions that will give you some flavor, we'll have specific and final master audio samples up next week.
