ONSLAUGHT Forced To Cancel UK Dates Due To "Serious Health Issue" With Singer Sy Keeler

Reformed classic UK thrash outfit ONSLAUGHT have posted the following announcement at their MySpace page:
"UK thrashers Onslaught have been forced to cancel the remaining dates of their British tour due to a serious health issue concerning vocalist Sy Keeler. The Onslaught frontman was rushed to hospital during the soundcheck at Leeds Rios suffering from an acute loss of vision. Keeler has since undergone an emergency operation to repair a detached retina in his left eye. If it was not for this immediate procedure the doctors said he would have almost certainly lost the sight in this eye.
Following the bands announcement to the Rios crowd regarding the situation, Onslaught were taken aback by the overwhelming warmth and support showed to them by the enthusiastic audience. This compelled the band to quickly reorganise and power through a few chosen classics with guitarist Nige Rockett handling the bulk of the vocal duties. Eviles' Matt Drake also joined the band onstage to scream out a thunderous version of 'Shellshock'.
Speaking from hospital a distraught Sy Keeler expressed his sincere apologies to all the fans that were looking forward to the first leg of the Killing Peace tour and is hoping to be fit enough to hit the road as soon as is humanly possible.
Onslaught are currently looking into re-scheduling the cancelled dates for later in the year."
Stay tuned for further updates from the band.
