DIMMU BORGIR - First Black Metal Act To Hit #1 On Norwegian Chart, Ever

DIMMU BORGIR's new album, In Sorte Diaboli, has landed at #1 on Norway's album charts, the first time ever a black metal act has landed at the top of a national album chart.
In Sorte Diaboli chart positions: Norway - #1, Finland - #6, Germany - #7, Sweden - #10, Austria - #11, Switzerland - #30, Holland - #37, Denmark - #61, Canada - #73, US - #43.
In Sorte Diaboli, the band's eighth studio album, was released on April 24th and sold over 14,000 copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan, securing the #2 slot on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and #43 slot on the Top 200 Albums chart, marking the highest charting album debut in Nuclear Blast USA's history.
In other recent news, Dimmu Borgir's video for 'The Serpentine Offering' debuted on MySpace.com in April and was viewed over 200,000 times. The video has since also aired on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and Fuse's Uranium.
