SANCTITY Frontman Checks In From Europe: "Subject To Some Pranks From Those Wacky Canadians In ANNIHILATOR"
May 9, 2007, 17 years ago
SANCTITY are currently on the road in Europe supporting TRIVIUM with ANNIHILATOR. Vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jared MacEachern has issued the following update:
"Greetings from Europe! Whew, it's been an adventure so far. We've been on the road for a while now, and we've been having a great time. First of all, we'd like to say thanks to all of you back home for your continuous support, we've been getting messages from a lot of you and it's been really great! We'll be home soon, I promise! We'll be on tour with Symphony X after we get back, so come out and see us.Next, we'd like to thank all the new fans and Roadrunner UK peeps that we met during our time there,it was too short, but it was a blast! We can't wait to return and get a little crazy with y'all again! Save some kebabs and Guiness for us, okay? We love that shit! Also, thanks to Vadim from Dragonforce for coming and hangin out with us, it was great to see him again. We will be returning to the UK for a couple shows with Killswitch before we play Download, so come out to the show if you can.
Europe has been fantastic so far, ever since the first show in Paris, where they were chanting our name before we even got on stage! It was pretty sweet, and our time here so far has been just as exciting. We've been having some really great shows, so thanks to all of you who have been rockin out with us. Also a shout out to our bros in Trivium and Annililator, we've been having a lot of fun. We all had a great time in Herford, Germany....after the show, the club turned into metal night until the break of dawn! Me and Corey had quite a few drinks that night, and I ended up giving the DJ the finger for about 2 hours cuz he wasn't playing what I liked! Thanks to the town of Herford for brewing a great local beer, it was both delicious and potent! Fifteen of those and a couple kebabs, and that made for a great night. Also, Derek and I had fun trying to figure out the intricacies of German laundromats, but we eventually figured it out after more kebabs! Other highlights include taking a stroll through the Red Light district in Amsterdam, it was quite an interesting....um.....historical landmark. That's what we'll call it for now!
Also, after the great show we had in Stockholm, we were subject to some pranks from those wacky Canadians in
Annihilator. First they used gaff tape and wrote "Ice Cream" on the back of our truck, it was actually kind of cute, haha! Then, someone got a hold of some air horns at 6 in the morning, ahem, JEFF....excuse me, I had something in my throat. I also think there may have been mass nudity involved. Then the larger guys on tour thought it would be funny to rock
our truck like crazy, they almost put it off its wheels! It was funny.....later. Haha, basically, it's been awesome over here.
Again, we want to say thanks to all the new fans we've been meeting over here, we love you all! I need to get with Matt so he can teach me how to at least say "hi" in so many different languages. However, let there be absolutely no confusion about how much fun we have been having playing for all of you so far, and also how great it's been to tour with such awesome bands. And of course, don't forget to pick up a copy of our album Road to Bloodshed today in stores! Buy that shit so we can eat, haha! And learn the words, we love seeing you guys and gals singing along.
We've got about 4 weeks left of tour, so you've still got time to come out and see us, we'd love to have ya!
Well, it's time to get back to work, we'll see you soon."
