BW&BK Exclusive: DOWN Re-Sign To Warner Bros. North America For Next Album
May 10, 2007, 17 years ago
DOWN, featuring vocalist Phil Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA, guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan (CORROSION OF CONFORMITY), drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), and guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR) - have inked a new deal with Warner Bros. for the North American release of their next album. BW&BK; sources say that the deal included the band retaining the rights to their catalog which includes their debut from 1995 called Nola and 2002's Down II: A Bustle In Your Hedgerow. The band are still negotiating a deal in Europe.
About the new album, Keenan told MTV.com earlier this year: "Several songs address Katrina's aftermath and how life changes on you, man. We've got a lot of ammunition for this one, I'll put it that way - a lot of things have not necessarily gone right for everybody these last couple of years. Everybody's just trying to stay positive. We're not writing Christian songs. These are still angry, frustrated songs."
Down III (tentative title) will be produced by Warren Riker (CROWBAR, SUBLIME) and should see the light of day later this year.
