MelodicRock.com has issued the following report:

Dan Clavadetscher has been stalking every Shaw/Blades movement in California, so thanks to that we have a fresh report from the duo's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, in Hollywood California, Wednesday, May 9th.

Setlist: 'High Enough' (Blades lead vocals), 'Dirty Work' (Blades lead vocals), 'Too Much Time On My Hands' (Shaw lead vocals), 'Summer Breeze' (Blades lead vocals), 'Sister Christian' (Shaw lead vocals).

"Fresh from playing recent dates with their respective bands, Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades continued the promotional push of Influence by sitting in with the six-piece house band Wednesday on the national late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Seated on stools and each sporting dark shirts, the renowned musicians joined Cleto and the Cletones to play two songs from Influence, and one each from Damn Yankees, Styx and Night Ranger during the one-hour show. Although only a few seconds of each were broadcast on ABC television prior to the commercial breaks, the studio audience in Hollywood, Calif., was treated to full and extended versions of the songs.

Following Kimmel's monologue about the latest American Idol news and California's brush fires, the jam band led by saxophonist Cleto Escobedo III launched into High Enough. The always animated Blades encouraged Shaw with his standard Play that guitar, Tommy, as his partner performed Ted Nugent's solo. Also, Blades changed one of the lyrics when he sang, "Fly me over to the Jimmy Kimmel show." To fill time, the band repeated the chorus numerous times until the commercial break was over.

Kimmel then returned and plugged Influence for the first of three times during the show. After the host conducted a playful interview with the stunning Evangeline Lilly of Lost, Shaw, Blades and friends performed 'Dirty Work' into the second set of commercials. During the break, the band stopped the song so Kimmel could record a Pontiac commercial. Upon completion, Cleto and friends picked up the Steely Dan tune at the chorus.

For 'Too Much Time on My Hands', it was Shaw's turn to change the lyrics when he sang "That is, as long as Jimmy Kimmel's buying and Is it any wonder I'm not the president of ABC." The set then concluded with inspired versions of 'Summer Breeze' and 'Sister Christian'.

After the show, Blades confirmed that work is underway on a DVD of the recently shot Key Club show and that Shaw/Blades will return to the road later this year after finishing up duties with Styx and Night Ranger. The pair will complete the current leg of the Shaw/Blades tour with concerts in Akron, Ohio, and Chicago on May 30th and 31st, respectively. Prior to those dates, Styx will perform six gigs beginning May 18th and Night Ranger will entertain a St. Louis audience on May 27th."
