The makers of Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal are proud to announce three June screenings of the documentary - Saturday, June 2nd at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival, Sunday, June 3rd at the Hoboken International Film Festival and Friday, June 22nd at the Staten Island Film Festival.

“The LA screening was a total blast, complete with artists from the film in the house and a loud, extremely energetic crowd singing along, seemingly determined to bring down the house,” said Director Rick Ernst. “The screenings in every city have been unbelievable - from bands performing live, fans screaming along to the soundtrack or special guests showing up - they have been amazing and I can't wait for more fans to Get Thrashed from coast to coast in June.”

Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal is the story of bands like METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX and how they, and others, pioneered a new form of heavy metal in the early 1980s. This new music was called "thrash metal" and many of the bands went from playing friend’s parties and small clubs to touring the world and headlining arenas. Along the way, there were drugs, drinking, fights, deaths, mosh pits, leather jackets, long hair and most of all - groundbreaking new music. Eventually, the scene fell apart, but the seeds these bands planted gave rise to the new breed of extreme heavy metal we see and hear today. Get Thrashed features the music of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, EXODUS, KREATOR, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, PANTERA and many more, plus interviews with members of over 30 bands from old school (Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine, Kerry King, Gary Holt, etc.) to new school (LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, CHIMAIRA, etc.)

The Seattle, WA screening of Get Thrashed will be on Saturday, June 2nd at 2 PM at the Seattle Art Museum (1300 First Ave, Seattle, Washington 98101). Tickets are $8.00 and are available through http://trueindependent.org/.
