Chicago's YAKUZA have issued the following update:

"Yakuza will be performing with the infamous Japanese psychedelic band DMBQ on Thursday, May 24th at The Empty Bottle (1035 N Western Chicago). K.K. RAMPAGE and DARK FOG open.

Doors are at 9 PM."

About DMBQ...

No discussion of the Tokyo underground scene would be complete without mentioning DMBQ. They are the missing link between the much-divided Japanese Noise/Alternative music and garage rock scene. Their Hard Rock/Psychedelic-based music, infused with elements of Noise and Free Improvisation, still unleashes an unstoppable power to embrace the whole spectrum of underground music.

Prepare for a wall of noise, amplification, and rock’n’roll in its most true form as you listen to DMBQ. They massacre the stage, audience and themselves right before your very eyes.

DMBQ have honed a name for themselves through their over the top stage show and antics. Defining that rock’n’roll is still a forced to be reckoned with, DMBQ stretches the limitations of the human physique as well as the livelihood of their musical equipment with their deranged finales at the end of each show. When asked to explain their music, DMBQ's only retort is "Yes, we have big problem in our brain."

As you may know, DMBQ lost their beloved drummer, China in a car wreck on their last American tour in November, 2005. This will be their first time visiting many of these US cities since their tragic loss. The new line-up features Wada Shinji, former drummer of the Japanese garage rock trio KING BROTHERS (In The Red Records). The band also features members of Damo Suzuki’s band and support members for BOREDOMS.
