BW&BK Exclusive: SLASH PUPPET Frontman Discusses Forthcoming Re-Issue, Unreleased Band Promo Shot Unveiled
May 26, 2007, 17 years ago
It was reported late last year that legendary Toronto band SLASH PUPPET, who were mainstays on the city's club circuit in the late '80s and early '90s alongside WINTER ROSE (featuring DREAM THEATER vocalist James LaBrie), SLIK TOXIK and SVEN GALI, would be issuing a "new" album through Sun City Records out of Australia. The band released one official album before calling it quits in 1995. BW&BK; caught up with frontman Mif, who offered the following details on the release:
"This is in fact a re-issue of 'The Demo', which was never released (officially) back in the day. It has been re-mastered and sounds great! We are now putting the finishing touches to the artwork as we speak and are kicking around a couple of title ideas, although we're pretty certain of that as well at this point, and it definitely won't be Slash Puppet II as has been reported. No final decision has been made, so I'm not at liberty to discuss all the details at this point.""It's really bizarre," he adds, "how Slash Puppet has taken on an almost pseudo cult-like following in cyberspace as it is still being sought out by fans (old and new alike) the world over. It kinda blows me away!"
Above is a promo shot of the band that, according to Mif, "has never been released before to anyone else on the planet."
More details regarding the release will be revealed soon.
