Every year Indianapolis rolls out the red carpet on the night before the 500 mile race. Saturday night there were limos, the red carpet, celebrities and fans. No, it wasn't a Hollywood awards show. It was the Regions Bank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball.

"This event gets bigger and more fun I think with every year that goes by," Scott Thiems, Exec. VP of Regions Bank said.

It is one of the city's most popular events. Just ask the party's hostess Cindy Simon-Skjodt.

"It sold out we have a waiting list and next year if you want to come get in early. That's all I got to say," Simon-Skjodt said.

24-Hour News 8 was there interviewing celebrities and taking you inside to see all of the action.

"I was here for the first time Indianapolis 500 last year so I'm here again," rapper and actor Ludacris said.

"There is something called the culture of Indy. There is a sense of family," KISS musician Gene Simmons said.

The perennial rock star even mastered the art of a great tease, "There is a about to be a very very big news item that we really can't announce yet but you'll hear it here first."

Simmons is here representing the marketing firm behind the Indy Racing League.
