Swedish melodic rockers HOUSE OF SHAKIRA are currently in the studio recording what will be their fifth studio album entitled Retoxed. Nine songs have been recorded to date and three more are ready to go once drummer Tony Andersson is recovered from hand surgery. Guitarist Anders Lundström comments on the progress:

"Once upon a time we felt like we were on some kind of drug or medication - 'cause inspiration just flooded the rehearsal room and everyone was full of creativity. During this time we wrote the material that finally was released on our debut album "Lint. A couple of years later we found ourselves in a completely different position. After our third record we went into detox and forgot that it should be fun to play together. We had locked the room to creativity and no one wanted try ideas with an open mind anymore. This all changed with a meeting we had in the band. After that meeting everyone felt pumped and full of creativity. We were in the same mood as when we did "Lint" - we felt Retoxed."

According to a press release, House Of Shakira have once again used some friends to add that little x-tra on the album. As always the band had Mikael "Zifa" Eriksson to help with background vocals. Some ROYAL HUNT power from Marcus Jidell who has added some beautiful cello and Pontus Norgren (THE POODLES, TALISMAN) also dropped by to take a look and managed somehow to destroy a Marshall amplifier!"

The new House Of Shakira album Retoxed will be released mid-October via Lion Music.
