The organizers of the Earthshaker Festival, taking place from July 19th - 21st in Kreuth, Germany have issued the following announcement:

"Dear Earthshakers,

We want to inform you of a last minute change to the organization of this year's festival. Due to the unpredictable weather that has been causing problems across Germany this festival season, the less-than-ideal weather forecast for this coming weekend, and in the interest of the safety of everyone in attendance, we have decided to present the Earthshaker Festival 2007 in a slightly altered form compared to previous years.

Due to the recent hot weather there is an increased risk of thunderstorm activity, and in order to guarantee the safety and security of festival-goers, as well as ensure that the band performances aren't interrupted or cancelled entirely, we have decided to move the festival indoors.

Fortunately, we have the luxury of being able to use the Ostbayernhalle - located directly on the festival grounds (see map) - in a case like this, as everone who attended Earthshaker Festival 2006 will remember from last year's spontaneous Thunderstorm Party when bad weather moved in. The stage will be in the Ostbayernhalle this year, which has played host to national and international acts in the past including the Böhse Onkelz and Herbert Grönemeyer. This way we are able to guartantee the safety of everybody in attendance.

The festival atmosphere won't be harmed by this change in any way, as the metal market and food / beer stands will still be in place outside. We are prepared for every eventuality, and there is the added bonus of you, the fans, not having to be concerned with getting soaked through or wading around in mud when the weather turns ugly. And if the sun decides to shine, you can always use the hall for cover.

Another positive aspect of this change: we've decided to open up the toilets in the Ostbayernhalle to everyone, so you now have the choice of the usual portable Dixies outside and the indoor bathrooms, thus offering the same comfort as the central showers in the camping area.
