ROSS THE BOSS - Original MANOWAR Guitarist Joins Forces With AFM Records
July 20, 2007, 17 years ago
Legendary guitarist ROSS THE BOSS (ex-MANOWAR) has issued the following message:
"On behalf of The Ross The Boss band and myself I would like to announce our signing with AFM Records worldwide! Needless to say we are all extremely happy and pleased to know that that we are joining a great metal family and can't wait to start work on our first CD", says the boss himself!
With Manowar he wrote metal history! Ross founded the band along with Joey DeMaio in the early 80s and recorded metal milestones such as Battle Hymns (1982), Into Glory Ride (1983), Hail To England (1984), Sign Of The Hammer (1984), Fighting The World (1987) and Kings Of Metal (1988). He left the band after the recordings of Kings Of Metal, until he joined the stage with Manowar at the legendary Earthshaker festival in 2005 again.
In 2006 Ross played along with the Manowar Cover band MEN OF WAR, featuring members of the German metal act IVORY NIGHT, at the Keep It True festival, playing songs of those legendary first Manowar records. More shows followed and finally Ross has decided to make a new record along with the same members under the name Ross The Boss.
AFM Records is proud about their new signing, "Ross was an important part of Manowar in their early days and the songs we heard so far brought back this special feeling you hardly can describe. We are very proud about his trust and belief in AFM Records and expect a Heavy Metal record that will write history again! Ross' guitar style is unique and with his German members he has the right metalheads along." says Markus Wosgien, A&R; of AFM records.
The band is in the song writing period right now. The album will be out in 2008 and more details will follow. Hail and Kill!
