A new list of the 20 Greatest Guitar Solos has been compiled by the staff of Britain's Q magazine, naming DAVID GILMOUR's solo in PINK FLOYD's 'Comfortably Numb' the greatest guitar solo in rock.

Coming in at #2 was Brian May's lead work on QUEEN's 'Killer Queen', with the third greatest guitar solo being tied between JIMMY PAGE's solo on LED ZEPPELIN's 'Stairway To Heaven' and JIMI HENDRIX's 'Purple Haze'.

The Top 20 Greatest Guitar Solos according to Q magazine are: PINK FLOYD - 'Comfortably Numb', QUEEN - 'Killer Queen', Tie: LED ZEPPELIN - 'Stairway To Heaven' and THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - 'Purple Haze', STONE ROSES - 'Love Spreads', MICHAEL JACKSON with guest appearance by Eddie Van Halen - 'Beat It', GUNS N' ROSES - 'Sweet Child O' Mine' ,THE BEATLES with guest appearance by ERIC CLAPTON - 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', STEELY DAN - 'Reelin In The Years', MUSE - 'Knights Of Cydonia', FLEETWOOD MAC - 'Go Your Own Way', TELEVISION - 'Marquee Moon', RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - 'Bullet In The Head', PRINCE - 'Purple Rain', NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE - 'Like A Hurricane', AC/DC - 'Let There Be Rock', THE BYRDS - 'Eight Miles High', THE SMITHS - 'Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others', DAVID BOWIE - 'Moonage Daydream', RADIOHEAD - 'The Bends', THE WHITE STRIPES - 'Ball And Biscuit'.
