Moshpit Tragedy Records: Burning Down The Music Industry

August 16, 2007, 17 years ago

hot flashes news

After recent announcements regarding new releases from DEVIL'S SON IN LAW, HANGOVER OVERDOSE, POWER IS POISON and THE SKUDS, Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records has decided in co-operation with the bands to give all four releases away permanently as high quality mp3 downloads complete with printable sleeve and cover artwork.

All four releases are also available in limited edition format of 100 numbered and hand-screenprinted CDs, packaged in a beautiful mini-vinyl sleeve which are not for sale and can only be obtained for free with orders from Moshpit Tragedy's website.

Comments label co-founder Rayny Forster, "Everyone knows that the record industry is on shaky ground - and rightly so. Music fans and artists alike have been ripped off and abused by record companies since day one. As a small label who employs do-it-yourself ethics, we're rather glad to see it crumble in the presence of technology that puts the power back in the hands of artists and fans. At this point we are operating as much as a service as we are a business and while we still aren't exactly changing the world, we would much rather be remembered for making a statement against music corporatization, or even for being at the forefront in terms of embracing the much needed change in the industry."
