The Maui News has issued the following report from Rick Chatenever:

Beginning their career as “the bad boys from Boston” in the 1970s and going on to be called by some, “America’s Greatest Rock ’n’ Roll Band,” AEROSMITH has added a Maui stop to its World Tour 2007.

The band will appear at 7 PM, September 26th at War Memorial Stadium. Presented by the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and produced by island rock impresarios Shep Gordon and Tom Moffatt, this will be the only public appearance in the state for the rockers who have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide.

Taking place on a Wednesday night, the concert will also celebrate the 85th Maui County Fair, to begin the following day in the War Memorial complex.

“This exclusive is so big, it requires us to put it in the stadium,” reported Art Vento, executive vice president and general manager of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, when he announced the concert Thursday.
