DEF LEPPARD Drummer To Attend Bank Of America 500 At Lowe's Motor Speedway

Rick Allen from DEF LEPPARD will be attending the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor speedway on October 13th 2007. Rick will be meeting fans, corporate guests and some of NASCAR's greatest drivers in the industry to share with them his vision for The Raven Drum Foundation. It is the mission of Raven Drum to develop others through instruction in helping people that have to live with Trauma everyday through the healing arts. Allen states "the first rhythm you ever heard was your mother's heartbeat that rhythm is in all of us-it is the rhythm of love". Allen went on to say, "Raven Drum empower individuals in crisis in the community using the power of the drum and the healing arts". Allen stated "the importance of NASCAR is its strong affiliation with and the support of the United States Armed Forces". Rick wants to bring a message of encouragement and hope to the men and women that serve this great nation here and around the world. The Raven Drum Foundation was pioneered by Rick Allen and his wife Lauren in Malibu, California.
Rick also presents his latest project, One Hand Drum Company. One Hand Drum Company was created to assist in providing funding to The Raven Drum Foundation. When Rick Allen signs an autograph it is always accompanied by a drawing of a one armed drummer aptly named, "STIK RICK". With so many people always asking "how are you doing"…"how's things" after over 20 years Rick can only answer "Life Is Great!!! Be A Rockstar!!!" This simple statement and the drawing of "STIK RICK" are being featured as works of art by Rick Allen, the artist. Allen states "This is one way everyone can be a part of my organization, One Hand Drum Company". In the near future, you will be able to purchase merchandise that garnishes this brand, it's really exciting and a portion of all the proceeds go to support Raven Drum. Allen exclaimed," We are pleased to have One Hand Drum as a financial partner". Rick will be presenting signed ball caps launching this program to a few lucky fans and drivers at the race.
Even today, it is hard to deny America's love for Rick Allen. Recently over 19,000 fans showed that they still want to hear more of the bands greatest hits like; Pour Some Sugar On Me, Rock Of Ages and Love Bites to name a few, during a concert in Charlotte. The Def Leppard 2007 concert tour, a huge hit this summer as the group played to over a million fans that have demonstrated that they still love to hear the band belt out the songs many fans grew up with in the eighties. Rick Allen turned his personal tragedy into one of personal triumph with the creation of a unique drum kit that enables his left leg to replace the actions of his left arm. Rick Allen continues today to be one of the great musical visionaries of our time.
