RUSH news site Power Windows reports:

"Update: since posting news of the Ultradisc II™ 24 KT Gold CD release, we've learned that Mobile Fidelity is also releasing Permanent Waves on 180 gram vinyl! This will be a numbered limited edition (how limited is unknown), to be released November 15th. Click here to pre-order.

Now available for pre-order, on November 6th Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs is releasing the Permanent Waves Ultradisc II™ 24 KT Gold CD. Mobile Fidelity's Limited Edition 24k Gold Audiophile CDs are some of the most valuable collector's items within the Audiophile market, pressed directly from the original studio master session tapes and engineered to produce the finest CD sound quality available. This is the fourth Rush album to be released in the Ultradisc II™ line; previous releases include 2112 (1993), Moving Pictures (1992), and Signals (1994), all of which are now out of print; the Permanent Waves Ultradisc II™ is sure to be highly coveted by Rush Audiophiles.

The Signals Ultradisc II™ is especially sought after by Rush collectors due to its version of 'The Weapon', which is missing the lyric "and the things that he fears, are a weapon to be held against him" from the second chorus. As quoted in the Rush FAQ, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab explained "The master tapes, which were provided to us directly from the Rush offices in Canada, did not include these vocals. Apparently, these vocals were edited in at a later time."
