As previously reported, in a recent interview with Indiaprwire.com, frontman Derrick Green explained why he refuses to eat meat and the importance of respecting animals and fellow humans. He also discusses the band's graphic video for the song 'Convicted In Life', which contains real footage of animal abuse, and depicts – in a twist of karma – pig slaughterers who turn into pigs, and chicken harvesters who get their brains eaten by hens.
"You can really tell how civilised a society is by the way that it treats its animals – everything is connected", says Green, who kicked the meat habit 23 years ago after reading Upton Sinclair's book The Jungle, which recounts the cruelty of abattoirs.
