hot flashes news

With a new M.O.D. studio album out (Red, White And Screwed) and a final S.O.D. EP hitting the shelves called Rise Of The Infidels, legendary singer Billy Milano spoke to BW&BK; recently about the fact that there’s no love lost between himself and the two S.O.D. bandmates (guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante) that also call ANTHRAX home.

“As far as that thing goes, it was just really important to resolve it,” says Milano on S.O.D. “Especially when there’s been so much horseshit around the band to begin with, you know what I’m saying? I’m very happy that it’s over, to be honest with you. And more importantly, I think a lot of people will be as well. If you look at it from the perspective of the guys in the band… they don’t want to deal with me, I don’t want to deal with them. Now we don’t have to deal with each other ever again. It’s perfect. It’s a perfect way to end it. I have no desire to ever do it again, I never wanted to do the reunion in ’99 and I got convinced to do it to help Scott (Ian), and it came back to bite me in the ass.”
“I closed half my businesses down,” he continues, “I had several, and basically put my whole life aside to do that band, and those guys were dicks. And they weren’t just dicks to me, because you can’t be a dick to me because you’ll get punched in the mouth. But more importantly, it doesn’t really bother me. But the reality of it is I put a lot aside to do that and the worst part about that is the two guys from Anthrax were dicks to their fans, the S.O.D. fans. I came out and said all this shit, ‘These guys are assholes, they only do it for the money, they don’t give a fuck about the fans.’”
“Everyone was saying for the last three or four years that I was an asshole and I was bitter,” he adds as a final word on S.O.D., “but I’m being vindicated now because even the Anthrax fans see the kind of people they are. So to end S.O.D. on a positive note with something new… and no matter what has been said and done, the fans win at the end of the day. If you’ve ever talked to me before, and you have, and if you’ve ever seen me, that’s all I give a fuck about. I don’t think money is the reward; it’s nice, but it’s not the goal for me. I think I stand vindicated and more importantly, content.”

And will he miss S.O.D.?

“Nah.”
